Due to coronavirus-related budget shortfalls, The Town of Wawayanda is forced to cancel our Annual clean-up day.
This is a notice to inform you that this fall the New York Power Authority will be performing maintenance on a portion of the Marcy South transmission line in Wawayanda, NY. The property is located on McVeigh Road near I-84. The maintenance will consist of the replacement of the transmission line shield wire, which is installed at the highest point of the structure. The shield wire will be installed via helicopter to minimize the disturbance to the ground area in the vicinity of the structures.
The time frame of this work is from mid to late-August through early November. It is expected that the field crews will work seven (7) - twelve (12) hour days (Monday - Sunday) weather dependent.

In light of the school closings, my office and staff are working with BOCES and our local schools in support of efforts to provide meals for school children who regularly receive school breakfasts and/or lunches. Whether you are part of a program or not, we do not want anyone to go hungry at any time, particularly as a result of the emergency school closures. Families in need of assistance can contact their schools or my office at 845-291-2700.
